ROSS JUNIORS FC

On 21st March, 2025 our clubs Community Outreach hosted their first ever evening event, an evening with Brian McDermott at Ross Sports Centre CIC

Brian who has had an illustrious career with clubs such as Arsenal, Reading and Leeds spoke about his football journey and his struggles from what he terms his ‘imposter syndrome’. It was a fantastic evening of talk about football and mental health.

The audience loved Brian’s talk and presentation and it was great to see so many new faces at the club. Gareth Nutt from our Outreach programme compered the evening fantastically well. Following Brian’s talk there was time for questions, auction and a very well supported raffle.

The club has held many evenings with football personalities and this was up there with one of the very best. Brian was thought provoking, witty and inspirational.
