Two of our girls sign Academy Contracts

Last year Ross Juniors Girls Under 10's had one of those once in a lifetime seasons. They remained undefeated in league, not even drawing a game and conceding 1 goal all season. They won the County Cup at Edgar Street and County Futsal then going on to win the West Midlands Futsal before beating West Ham Girls on the way to winning the FA National Futsal in Birmingham. On top of this they won 8 out of 8 of the tournaments they entered.

The foundation for this success was built by the girls playing as an all girls team in the Herefordshire Boys League on Saturdays. Quite often the result didn't go their way but it built the learning blocks and gave them the challenge and development which they took into Sundays girls football.

Four of the girls Hannah, Bel, Eva and Millie trained with WBA PDC during season and were invited to their transition week based on their performances. Amelie played for Aston Villa Girls during the season with games against teams such as Reading, Bristol City and Leicester City girls. All of the other girls in the squad were of the same level too.

At the end of the season two of the girls Amelie and Eva completed successful trials for Birmingham City and Bristol City Academies respectively. They are now on year long contracts and are playing at the highest level for their age groups in girls football nationally.

Their teammates will miss them but go on with the expectation that many of them by the end of the season will be joining their friends in the Academy System.
