The club is working hard to build better links with local schools which will hopefully lead to more children playing football and maybe joining the club. Carl Roberts one of our level 2 coaches is coaching after school with Ashfield Girls and also at Brampton. He was also coaching new players at St Joseph’s earlier in the term. The Herefordshire Football Association also this term ran a roadshow for the club where they went into local schools on our behalf to encourage new players to the game. A coaching event thanks to Beyond Storage sponsorship happened at the sports centre following this and some of those children are now playing for the club. Today the club through Gorsley Goffs School presented to students from John Kyrle some of our old football shirts. As part of JKHS and Gorsley’s Goffs Uganda link these shirts will be going to schools out there who have very little sports equipment. It’s a real big deal for these Ugandan kids to have a proper kit. Thanks to the generosity of our many parents and local companies who sponsor our teams, we are fortunate every time we find a new sponsor we can replace the previous kit. It’s great to know the previous kit goes to a very worthwhile cause. We have done this previously with Kenya too, it’s nice to think young children in Africa are wearing our club kits with pride!
